Description

GROTON GROTON STREET 1. 5377 (east side) Groton Place TL 94 SE 41/356 23.1.58 II 2. A large timber-framed and plastered building with C18 external features. Possibly of C16 or C17 origin. Half H on plan with wings on the north and south extending to the west. Roof slate, with a parapet and a wood modillion cornice 1:5:1 window range, one window range on the inner sides of the wings and 3 window range on the south end. The windows are mainly C18 double-hung sashes with glaxing bars. There are some old casements with leaded lights on the south side The doorway has a 6-panel door with a "Baroque" fanlight, Tuscan plain columns and an open modillion pediment. There are 2 large square chimney stacks to the main block. Listing NGR: TL9572842079
