Description

TM 36 NW BADINGHAM LAXFIELD ROAD 4/7 The Priory - II Former farmhouse. Mainly late C16/early C17; right hand cross wing probably added early C19. A main range with flanking cross wings. Timber framed core, early C19 white brick facade, roughcast render to rear; roof plaintiled to front, pantiled to rear. 2 storeys; former attic to left hand wing. 4 windows to main range, one window to wings: various mainly C20 casements; 2 half-glazed doors to the main range; the windows and doors have timber hood moulds. Ornamental bargeboards to gables of cross wings. Internal stack to main range. A late C19/early C20 rear porch has a re-used doorway dated 1570 amd initialled 'IIS.A'. Modernised interior; the right hand wing has imported moulded floor beams. From the roof structure it seems the left hand wing was originally detached. Listing NGR: TM3126769910
