3/53 Former stables immediately - north of Dennington Place 25.10.51. (formerly listed with Dennington Place)

Former stables, now used for housing livestock and for storage. C16. L shape plan. Timber framed, part with exposed timbering and brick nogging, part weatherboarded; pantiled roof. The original brick nogging is in herringbone pattern. 2 storeys. Various later windows and doors. Attached to the west side in the angle of the 2 ranges is a C20 open lean-to extension. A good quality timber frame with very little re-used material. The original roof was replaced in the later C18 or C19. Described in a deed of 1566 as'Two stables without the mote with the garners and romes over the same.'
