Listed Building: ROOKERY FARMHOUSE (282251)

ILKETSHALL ST. MARGARET GRUB LANE (OFF) TM 38 SE 3/34 Rookery Farmhouse - II Farmhouse. Early C17. 2 storeys; basic 2-cell lobby-entrance plan. Timber- framed and roughcast; clay pantiles. An internal chimney-stack with a plain rebuilt red brick shaft. C20 3-light casement windows and a C20 plank door set at the right end. Projecting forward from the left end is a single storey brick extension with clay pantiles and a C19 3-light mullion-and-transome type gable window with segmental arch to frame and opening. Interior of the main house with plain framing exposed: 5 bays. On the ground floor: a blocked 4- light original window, the mullions with hollow-chamfer moulding, and a similar blocked 3-light window on the upper floor. Beams and joists to ground-floor ceiling with plain chamfer and stepped stops; upper ceiling original. Long jowled main posts without braces. Wallplate with face-halved and bladed scarf joint.
