Description

TM 48 SW WESTHALL 3/33 Red Barton - II House. Late C16/early C17 core, with later alterations. 2 storeys and attics; 2-cell lobby-entrance form. Timber-framed; the front and south gable wall faced in C18 red brick, in English Bond to the ground floor and in Flemish Bond above, with thick mortar joints. Clay pantiles. An internal chimney stack with a plain red brick shaft. 2 3-light early C19 windows to the ground floor front: mullion-and-transome type with narrow glazing-bars, pintle hinges and segmental arches to frames and surrounds,. 3 2-light C20 replacement casement windows above. In the south gable, a 2-light small-paned casement window to each floor. In the rear wall at first floor level, one original 3-light window with hollow-chamfer moulding to the mullions. A later single-storey lean-to at the north side. Listing NGR: TM4178980210
