Description

Shimpling 1. 5377 Shimpling Hall TL 85 SE 4/756 l0.1.53. II 2. Situated approximately 34 yds west of the Church of sSt George. A C15-C16 timber-framed and plastered house with cross wings at the north-west and south-east ends. (Dickenson dates the house from 1475). Renovated in the C20. 2 storeys. The cross wings are jettied on the upper storey. 1:3:1 window range, double-hung sashes with glazing bars. The ground storey windows are mostly 3-light. There is a C18 portico with plain columns and a cornice. Roof tiled, with a central chimney stack with 3 grouped octagonal shafts on a square base. Listing NGR: TL8584251251
