Description
WESTGATE STREET 1. 5377 (North Side) Long Melford Nos 1 to 5 (consec) TL 8646 20/585 16.4.71. II
2. Originally a mediaeval hall house with a floor inserted in the C16-C17. C18-C19 external features. Wings project to the south at the east and west ends. 2 storeys. 3 window range to the main block and 1 window range in the wings, casements with glazing bars. The west wing is faced on the front with rubble with red brick dressings. Roofs thatched, with 4 large rectangular chimney stacks. The interior has exposed timber-framing and part of the house has been restored to its original form with a part of the hall open to the roof.
