Description

TM 07 NE WORTHAM LONG GREEN (SOUTH SIDE) 1/159 Ivy House Farm House -- II Farmhouse. Late C16, extended mid C17, raised and further extended c.1810 and later C19, altered C20. Timber frame with some red brick plastered with incisions to resemble stucco. Hipped tiled roof. Originally 2 cells with a cross passage, parlour and lobby entrance bays added to left, a further dairy bay added to right. 2 storeys and attic. 4 window front with C20 2-light casements, early entrances blocked, coved eaves. Three 2-light leaded pane gabled dormers. Axial ridge stacks between hall and parlour and at original right end, rebuilt cap. Right end wall is rendered early C19 red brick. To rear behind cross passage is an early C19 2-storey narrow gabled stair turret. To rear of service end are later C19 low red brick additions, segmental headed openings, hipped pantiled roofs, a 1 storey washroom with flint walling and stack. Interior: hall has jowled storey posts to a bar stop chamfered cross axial binding beam, stop chamfered joists and fireplace bressumer, original doorway and window openings are exposed, parlour has a raised stop chamfered axial binding beam. First floor arched braces in walling, reverse curved bracing in parlour end wall. Listing NGR: TM0743977276
