THORNDON HIGH STREET TM 16 NW 3/95 Barn 60m south of Manor - Farmhouse GV II Barn. Early C17. Timber framed, mainly plastered and tarred, the east gable end weatherboarded. Pantiled roof. 6½-bay frame, the ½-bay at the west end probably the remains of a 7th bay. Cart entry in 4th bay from east, with gabled porch to north. Largely intact studding with a middle rail. East gable end has braces on outside of studs. Porch has diamond-mullioned windows in gable. Original tie beam braces mostly removed. Roof has clasped and butt purlins; some wind bracing, only slightly curved. Listing NGR: TM1424569520
