Description

ONEHOUSE FOREST ROAD TM 05 NW 2/138 Onehouse Lodge 9.12.55 GV II House, early C18 with posssible earlier core. Timber framed and plastered; the east wall has original plaster with large rusticated panels with beaded borders. Hipped plaintiled roof with 3 C19 gabled casement dormers, an internal C18 chimney of red brick. 2 storeys. 5 windows; original mullioned and transomed casements with unusual shouldered segmental heads. The lights above the transomes all retain leaded glazing. 8-panelled entrance door, the head being also of shouldered segmental form. Good moulded dentiled segmental pediment, cornice and pilasters. Believed to have oak staircase with fluted balusters (3 per tread) and carved console stair ends; some good panelling. A rear wing to left is contemporary, and to rear of that is a single storey bakehouse with external end chimney of narrow red bricks. Interior not examined. Listing NGR: TM0223459560
