Description

BUXHALL VALLEY LANE TL 95 NE 1/54 Park Farmhouse 9.12.55 GV II Former farmhouse, mid C16. 3-cell cross-entry plan. 2 storeys. Timber- framed and plastered. Plaintiled roof with a gable chimney to left; the shaft is octagonal, of C19 red brick. The rear chimney of gault and red brick is also polygonal and rebuilt in C19. Mid C20 small-pane casements. Mid C20 brick porch with pantiled roof and 6-panelled door. Typical unmoulded C16 framing exposed internally: large unchamfered floor joists and tension-braced close-studding. The hall fireplace is at the rear, an unusual feature for rural mid Suffolk, with a large cambered lintel. A rear wing originally one storey high, perhaps added C17/C18. Listing NGR: TL9983156287
