Description

OFFTON BILDESTON ROAD TM 04 NE 6/137 Valley Farmhouse - II Farmhouse; early C16 crosswing, with main range rebuilt c.1800. 2 storeys. The wing is timber-framed and plastered; the main range red brick with dentil course at eaves. Plaintiled roofs with axial chimney of red brick; the ridge tiles are crested and pierced with trefoils. C20 casements. C20 glazed panelled entrance door in c.1800 opening. The C16 wing has studwork with arched stud-bracing. Crownpost roof; the archbraced open truss has a square crownpost with 2-way plank bracing; many rafters and collars and other members are smoke-blackened indicating reuse from a mediaeval house.
