TL 96 SW BEYTON THE GREEN 4/12 Manor Farmhouse -- II Former farmhouse, late C16 with later alterations. 2 storeys. 5 windows: originally of 3-cell plan. Timber-framed and plastered. Plaintiled roof with spike finials at gables. An axial chimney, the shaft rebuilt in C20 red brick. Late C19 and C20 sashes. C20 boarded entrance door: gabled timber- framed and plaintiled porch c.1980. A C19 plastered brick and pantiled extension to left. Believed to have late C16 unmoulded timber framing. Lintelled open fireplaces with jambs formed of medieval limestone blocks taken from the Abbey of St Edmundsbury: moulded C12 shafts Listing NGR: TL9355063427
