RATTLESDEN BRETTENHAM ROAD TL 95 NE 3/78 Brook Farmhouse 15.11.54 GV II Farmhouse, early or mid C17. 3-cell lobby-entrance plan. 2 storeys and attics. Timber-framed and plastered. Plaintiled roof; the west gable towards the road has an oversailing tie beam, moulded and supported on brackets. A good and prominent axial C17 chimney of red brick has a moulded and panelled base and 4 square shafts linked by a cap at the head. C19 small-paned casements; on the north side a chamber window has a moulded oriel cill of C17 form. C19 panelled entrance door at lobby-entrance position. A small rear slated roofed 2-storey service wing has a C17 chimney with sawtooth shaft. Interior not examined. Listing NGR: TL9698357986
