DRINKSTONE PARK ROAD TL 96 SE Whitefield House 1/18 GV II Farmhouse, late C17. 2 storeys and attics. 4 windows. 3-cell-lobby- entrance plan. Timber-framed and pebble-dashed. Plaintiled roofs. An axial chimney, the shaft rebuilt in C19 red brick. Early C17 3-light casements with transomes. 6-panelled door at lobby-entrance position, the upper pair of panels glazed. An original 1 1/2 storey rear service wing. Interior: complete C17 oak framing extensively exposed - primary- braced studding and on-edge floor joists. 2-tier butt purlin roof, with many reused components from another roof of similar design. A wide lintelled open fireplace in the hall. Some original patterned plasterwork and a blocked original window in the rear wall. Alterations to rear in progress at date of resurvey.
