Description

HORHAM KERSLEY HALL LANE TM 27 SW 5/46 Wretts Farmhouse II Farmhouse. Early C17; 3-span mid C20 addition to rear. Timber framed and plastered, lined in imitation of ashlar. Roof has slates to front and mid C20 clay plaintiles to rear. 2 storeys and attic. 3-cell, lobby entry type. 3 windows, mainly late C19 2-light casements; 2 mid C20 casements to ground floor. Mid C20 entrance door. Internal stack: rendered shaft with pilaster- like projecting centre and remains of a moulded base. The frame is visible at first floor level: plain, quite widely-spaced studs; some arched braces. Both hall and parlour have axial bridging beams with nicked stop-chamfers; the joists are concealed. Roof has butt and clasped purlins and straight plank wind bracing. The gable ends were substantially rebuilt in C19-C20. Listing NGR: TM2228872534
