Listed Building: HORSESHOE FARMHOUSE (280254)

STRADBROKE WOOTTON GREEN, WILBY ROAD TM 27 SW 3/134 Horseshoe Farmhouse -- II Farmhouse. C15. Timber framed and plastered at front, the remainder in C19 colourwashed brick which probably replaces the timber frame. Pantiled roof, 1½ storeys. A 3-cell open hall house. Mid C20 casement windows with pseudo diamond-leaded glass throughout. 3 gabled dormers, the central one larger. C19 doorway with architrave surround, frieze and cornice; 4-panel door. Boarded half-door to left. Internal stack with low rendered shaft. Small gable stack to right. Tie beam of open truss is intact, with one brace visible: it carries a fine octagonal crown-post with moulded capital and 4-way bracing; base of post not visible. Original rafters substantially intact, together with one sooted end gable wall. Stack inserted into probably the upper end of the open hall. Inserted floor has chamfered joists of c.1600.
