Farmhouse, early/mid C16 in two stages. 2 storeys. 3-cell plan. Timber-
framed and roughcast. Concrete plaintiled roof, once thatched, hipped at
rear. An axial chimney with rebuilt shaft of C20 red brick. Mainly mid C19
small-pane casements. Rear C20 entrance door. Heavy C16 framing fully
exposed: tension-braced close-studding and massive beams and 1st floor joists.
Crownpost roof. A wide lintelled open fireplace in the hall. One cell at the
rear of the house appears to be an early C16 parlour cell. The remainder of
this structure was rebuilt on the same site, and the parlour became a service
room by mid C16.
