Description

BURGATE STUBBING'S GREEN, TM 07 SE BOTESDALE 3/17 Stubbing's Entry -- II House. Early to mid C17, extended late C18 or early C19, altered C20. Timber frame, brick cased and plastered. Steeply pitched machine tiled roofs. 2 cell lobby entry plan, 2 storeys. 3 bay, 1 storey and attic service addition to right. Originally central entrance, 6-panelled door, part glazed, part fielded, C19 or C20 doorcase with a blocked broken pediment. Flanking C20 3- light casements, first floor 2-light casements. Boxed eaves. Rebuilt axial ridge stack. Added range to right has 1 and 2-light casements and two 2-light flat headed dormers, an entrance to rear. To rear of early range a C20 flat roofed addition. Interior: Frame largely concealed, stop chamfered cross axial binding beams, cranked braces in walling. A large and complex moat lies to west of house. Listing NGR: TM0636474085
