Description

TM 07 SW WALSHAM LE WILLOWS CRANMER GREEN 3/37 High Hall II Former farmhouse, now derelict. Late C16. Timber-framed and roughcast- rendered; plaintiles, but the roof now partially stripped. 2 storeys; 3-cell plan, with cross-entry and internal chimney-stack. The stack has 2 rebuilt square shafts set diamond-wise on an older base. Edwardian casement windows, mainly 3-light with transome. C20 entrance door. Interior with plain studding, reversed bracing, modernised fireplaces. Main beams with chamfer and scroll stops; main posts with long jowls. Plain rectangular doorways to the 2 service rooms. Newel stair by stack. Roof with clasped purlins, principal rafters, windbraces. C19 additions at the rear, partly in brick, partly in clay lump. The house stands on an isolated, moated site and has been unoccupied for over 20 years. Listing NGR: TM0259871652
