Listed Building: MILL HILL HOUSE (403639)

TL 85 NW BROCKLEY BURY ROAD 4/36 Mill Hill House (Formerly listed under Whepstead 30.3.73 Road,GULLING GREEN ) II House, early C16. 2 storeys. Timber-framed and rendered; the west gable-end jettied at 1st floor with exposed close-studding and tension-braces. Pantiled roof with axial chimneys of red brick. C19 and C20 casements, some with small panes. 4-panelled entrance door and open C20 parapet-gabled porch with slated roof. Good close-studded framing exposed internally. The parlour has unglazed diamond-mullioned windows with arched heads to each light, and doorway with 4-centred head. An original plank-and-muntin screen, apparently dividing hall from service room; a rare arrangement in Suffolk. A small stair-case wing added c.1600, with ovolo-moulded mullioned window. A further cell added at the east end C18, and main roof rebuilt at lower pitch. Listing NGR: TL8298256140
