BURY ST EDMUNDS TL86SE HOME FARM LANE 639-1/3/438 (South side) 12/07/72 No.77 Home Farm House (Formerly Listed as: HARDWICK HOME FARM LANE Home Farmhouse) II House, formerly the Home Farm to Hardwick House (demolished). Early C19. In white brick with the front faced in panels of knapped flint; hipped slate roof with a plain wide eaves soffit. 2 internal white brick chimney-stacks with plain shafts. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. 3 window range: 16-pane sashes with flat gauged arches. A central 6-panelled entrance door with fanlight in a semicircular arched brick surround. To each side, a single-storey wing in similar materials with various casement windows. The house has been reversed, and the present garden front was originally the entrance front. This is in white brick and has a 3-window range of 16-pane sashes with flat gauged arches. An enclosed single-storey porch is faced in knapped flint with white brick dressings and has a moulded stone pediment with the initials TGC (for Thomas Gery Cullum) and the date 1838. There is a semicircular brick arch to the slightly recessed door and a small window in each side wall with a semicircular arched surround in chamfered brick. INTERIOR: not inspected, but reputed to have no outstanding features. Listing NGR: TL8554862124
