Description
Evaluation to the rear of the site of the 17th centuryWillow Cottage found no earlier structures on the site, but a pitcontaining 15th/16th century pottery partly underlay the building's southwall, and an infilled ditch 11m north of the cottage may be the formerboundary of Hinderclay Green, enclosed c.1819. The ditch was 2m wide and0.5m deep and contained red bricks and small quantities of 17th century orlater pottery.
