Description
An archaeological evaluation was carried out on the second phase of Liberty Village. A total of 36 trenches measuring 1.6m wide and totalling a combined 810m long were excavated. This represented a 2.9% sample of the total area. The trenches identified some truncation dating from house building in the 1960’s, although it was not considered severe enough to suggest that evidence of occupation had been destroyed. The only features identified were a ditch and an undated patch of burning.
