Description
A limited archaeological evaluation at Snells Garage, Ballingdon Hill, Sudbury, prior to redevelopment, did not locate any evidence of the medieval Chapel of Ballingdon, that is believed to lie in the vicinity. The documentary study within this report suggests that the dedication of the chapel at this location BCB 017, has been confused with a chapel dedicated to St Thomas the Martyr located at 'Sidolves Mere' = Sicklesmere.
