Groundworks associated with the upgrading of an access track to an Anglian Water pumping station were monitored during excavations and the stripping of soil. The primary interest in the area is based upon its location close to the settlement rich fen edge. The work was funded by Defence Estates USAF (contract No. DEUSFMIL/13016). The site is located close to the taxiway on the north-west end of the airfield and to the south of 30 acre field which has recently been the subject of extensive excavations.
