Description
An archaeological evaluation on land adjacent to Tesco's, Rattler's Road, Brandon identified the presence of a relatively well-preserved natural subsoil but no archaeological deposits. Four trenches were excavated 1.6m wide and totalling Totalling 53m in length to an avergae depth of 0.6m. The absence of such deposits indicates that the Late Saxon occupation seen to the west at BRD 156 does not extend in this direction, meaning that BRD 156 is likely to form the south-eastern edge of the Late Saxon settlement.
