Description

This phase of excavation revealed a number of small Iron Age pits in the NW corner of the site. A series of parallel ditches dating to the 10th-13th centuries were also recorded, which were truncated by a later enclosure and possible structure. During the 13th-15th century a rectangular structure was constructed, possibly associated with field systems. The final medieval phase saw the cutting and recutting of a large boundary ditch, and a large pond-like feature with associated cobbled surface, together with a sequence of probable quarry pits.
