Description
Archaeological monitroing was carried out at the old builder's yard, Church Street, Stradbroke as part of an archaeological condition attached to the planning consent for the construction of new dwelling and garage. The brick-lined, sawpit had been exposed beneath the floor of an outbuilding that had been demolished as part of the re-development of the site. A measured survey of the sawpit was undertaken and a number of digital photographs were taken of the sawpit after it had been mechanically excavated by the on-site contractors.
