Description
Site visits were made during the stripping of the existing contrete render from the face of the plinth, the breaing out of the hard surface and the excavation of the drains on the north side of the porch. The hard surface was removed only to the depth of a gravel subbase and had no impact on the archaeological horizon. The excavation of the south drain was not observed but the archaeological levels on this side of the porch were recorded in a test hole excavated in advance of the main work (S1).
