Description
An archaeological evaluation was carried out on land at Wideham Farm, West Stow in advance of development. The 120m of trenching identified the natural subsoil of gravel and sands underlying colluvial gravels. Apart from a single ditch relating to a 19th/20th century boundary marking the edge of West Stow Heath, no archaeological features were identified. Combined with a complete absence of finds material this indicates that the site has not been a focus of activity at any stage in the past.
