Description

Archaeological Surveys Ltd was commissioned by Mott MacDonald, on behalf of Godolphin Management Company, to undertake a magnetometer survey of an area of land at Wellbottom Lodge near Moulton in Suffolk. The site has been outlined for the proposed development of stables, warm-up track, parking, storage yard and turn-out paddocks. The magnetometer data revealed widespread evidence for 'patterned ground' that is formed naturally in periglacial conditions. A small number of linear and discrete anomalies were classified as uncertain in origin and may relate to former anthropogenic activity; however,
