Description
An archaeological trial trench evaluation was carried out prior to the construction of a single storey building and associated car park. A previous desk-based assessment had identified moderate potential for the preservation of prehistoric deposits. A total of four trenches were excavated measuring between 8m and 20m in length and 1.6m wide. The trenches were excavated to a depth ranging between 0.5m and 0.9m before encountering the natural drift. No finds of archaeological interest and only 20th century garden features were encountered.
