Description

Eighteen evaluation trenches were excavated across the 6.6ha site in advance of residential development. The evaluation revealed a moderate number of features, principally modern rubbish pits and water pipe trenches associated with the use of the site as allotments since the late 19th century. A single residual sherd of Thetford-type pottery was also recovered. Environmental investigations concluded a low potential for palaeoenvironmental deposits.
