Description
The site was visited on the 20th and 21st February to monitor the excavation of three footing trenches for a rear extension. Monitoring of three 1.25m square footing trenches revealed one large medieval pit with pottery and tile, and post-medieval pit and well. Due to the disturbed nature of the ground, the depths of the trenches varied considerably and combined with problems of limited access, this mean that the contractors had to complete the excavation by hand. The natural was uncovered at a depth of 0.6-2.8m (S1).
