Description
Monitoring of the footing trenches for a new conservatory. The observed footings were c. 0.35m wide and approximately 0.5m deep. The stratigraphy encountered consisted of imported/redeposited mid brown clayey silt topsoil over orangey yellow sharp builder's sand. This overlay a compacted mid brown clayey silt deposit, possibly a buried topsoil that predated the current buildings, but was not penetrated due to the shall nature of the footings. No archaeological features or finds were revealed (S1).
