Description

Excavations revealed a 1st to 2nd century Roman field and track system and extensive 6th to 8th century Anglo-Saxon settlement remains. An assemblage of 855g crucible and mould fragments was recovered from the site. Qualitative analysis of crucible and mould material revealed that they had been used to melt copper alloys
