Description

A monitoring was carried out during works to extend and refurbish the Abbeygate Picture House and the adjoining propert of 4 Hatter Street. The work involved the recording of groundworks on the south-east side of the hall range at the rear of the building, as well as a survey of the cellar under the building frontage, which required some structural alterations. A cursory record was also made of the rear hall range's roof structure. The excavated area was 42sqm and 0.8m deep. The cellar ran under the majority of the existing building's footprint, covering 134.5sqm (S1).
