Description
Works involved removal of two trees and the levelling of the raised garden. After the site was cleared it was found that the subsoil was slightly lower than the level of the yard and was largely undisturbed in the area that had been contained by the garden wall, except for a large hole where a tree was removed in the south east corner of the site. The area was cleared with a mattock and hoe. The exposed site was planned and excavated over 1.5weeks. Excavation identified a possible malting oven, various pits and ditches a possible clay floor and wall footings. No further details (S1).
