Description
An area of pasture field adjacent to the grounds of Cavendish Primary School, measuring c.0.18ha, was monitored during groundworks for its conversion into a school playing field. The works involved only minimal ground disturbance, removing vegetation and the levelling/grading of topsoil, and do not appear to have penetrated any further than a depth of 0.1m, meaning that any potential archaeological horizon was not exposed or affected. A walkover of the exposed topsoil surface did not identify any archaeological material.
