Description
A short archaeological monitoring of ground works associated with the development at Office Farm, Mutton Lane, Brandeston. After initial evaluation of the site revealed ditches dating to the Roman period, archaeological monitoring of intrusive ground works near to Mutton Lane was required as part of the mitigation strategy for this development. Footings for three garages were observed (shown in red on the trench plan below), measuring 0.6m wide and 2.0m deep. The house footings were not observed as they lay outside the area of interest.
