Description
Two visits to look at footing trenches for an extension to the building. Trenches, approx 1m deep, showed natural subsoil of orange silt/clay and gravel at a depth of 0.5 – 0.8m. This lay under a thick deposit of a clean dark grey silt/soil, probably an old topsoil which itself was covered by 0.2m of modern material.
