Description
Five trial pits hand dug by developers. 1.2m of soil dump? East of site. Gravel subsoil. At the base a wall was seen c. 1.80m below ground surface adjacent to old precinct wall. The was was mae of misc brick and Abbey stone, likely late 18th century. Topsoil to the north of the site was c.0.10m building debris overlaying buried topsoil, normal horizons to sandy/gravelly subsoil at c.0.5m (S1).
