Description
Site visited during 2001 while topsoil was being scraped off. Under c350mm of topsoil a sandy subsoil layer was exposed and a moderately dense of scatter of flint flakes and heavily burnt flints was noted over an area of c60m x 50m. As still in subsoil no features seen. House footings excavated from this level and 5/6 were seen on a subsequent site visit but no features were noted through a few more flakes were seen on the spoil. Possible settlement area on a gentle, south facing slope, just above a small stream.
