Description
Area was visited twice to examine a new pipe trench adjacent to the present A14 motel/garage area. No finds or features were visible in the trnech or spoil, though much of the section was backfilled or observed.
A large area of the pond had been removed to below archaeological level. Machining had been done with a large toothed bucket and the soils and subsoil had a silt/clay component, making it difficult to see a feature and not realistic to clean an area.
No finds were recovered from anywhere along its length.
