Description

During monitoring of cable and pipe trenches being excavated around Bruisyard Hall various stretches of flint and mortar wall as well as lengths of brick lined drain were recorded. It is likely that these walls and drains relate to the Medieval Nunnery which occupied the site up to 1539. None of the structural remains recorded to date forms any coherent building plan. However, it might be hoped that, coupled with further work around the site in the future, it may be possible to understand the layout of this monastic house.
