Description
Excavation on access road area had already begun when site was visited. The area to the rear was open for inspecting. The area had been lowered by some 750mm, which followed the natural grandient of the hill, and the whole area was still covered by garden soil. A small area of clay in the centre of the site was the only indication that the finished level was close to the subsoil surface. Nothing of archaeological interest was identified.
