Description
Two 20m trenches were dug to investigate the archaeological potential of a site for two dwellings. Despite the favourable location for past settlement and land use (being on a raised south-facing terrace close to a tributary of the River Blyth), no archaeological remains were found. Severe truncation, carried out during the construction of the farmyard in the post-war period, would have probably removed any remains if they had existed.
