Description

An open-area excavation 0.73ha took place in advance of sand and gravel extration to the south-west of Pannington Hall. Most of the site revealed natural deposits of sand and gravel with occasional pockets of silt and silty sand. Across the south-western corner of the site a deep natural channel filled with fine silts was revealed (S1).
