Description
An archaeological trial trench evaluation was carried out within the proposed footprint of office buildings and an associated car park. A total area of 378m squared was evaluated covering a c.5% sample of the site. The evaluation identified an archaeological horizon at a depth ranging between 0.33m and 0.65m. All of the features identified were relatively shallow, possibly due truncation from the demolition work associated with the WWII airfield and modern ploughing on the site.
